Jess said: "It is always a pleasure to nominate our local healthcare providers for the annual NHS Parliamentary Awards, recognising the innovative and life changing work that is being done every day on our doorstep."
"This year, more than ever, our NHS staff deserve this recognition, so I am very pleased to see the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust's Critical Care Family Liaison team make it through to the final shortlist and award ceremony in Westminster next year!"
The team was set up at the beginning of the pandemic so that the families of those admitted to hospital could get regular information about their relatives' conditions when visits were halted to stop the spread of the virus.
